History and Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Japan Association of Aerosol Science and Technology (JAAST) originated from the Aerosol Research Council, established in August 1983 by researchers and engineers from universities and industries interested in aerosols. After years of development and reorganization, JAAST was officially founded as an academic society in July 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, JAAST has approximately 400 individual and student members, along with 40 to 50 corporate members. The association is registered with the Science Council of Japan, the International Aerosol Research Assembly (IARA), and the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly (AARA), playing a significant role both domestically and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fields and Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

JAAST brings together researchers and engineers from a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, engineering, and science, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration. The society\u2019s activities cover a broad spectrum of applications, and further growth is anticipated in fields such as the environment, materials, pharmaceuticals, energy, and cleanroom technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major activities include the annual \u201cAerosol Science and Technology Conference\u201d held every summer, as well as proactive information dissemination and public awareness campaigns on socially relevant topics such as PM2.5. JAAST also organizes public symposiums and publishes explanatory books for the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, JAAST maintains strong relationships with aerosol societies in Asia, America, and Europe, contributing to international cooperation and exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Membership Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

JAAST welcomes the active participation of researchers, engineers, students, and corporations interested in aerosols. Anyone is welcome to join and make use of the association\u2019s resources and network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
