for Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2026 Japan Association of Aerosol Science and Technology Travel Award (JAAST-TA)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Support Program for Research Presentations at International Conferences Held Overseas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Japan Association of Aerosol Science and Technology (JAAST) provides support for outstanding early-career researchers in the field of aerosol science and technology to attend and present their research at international conferences. Eligible applicants are, in principle, individual members aged 40 or younger, as well as student members enrolled in doctoral programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As JAAST is a member of the International Aerosol Research Assembly (IARA), the Association considers international exchange with overseas researchers to be highly significant. For this reason, the <strong>International Aerosol Conference (IAC) 2026<\/strong>, to be held in <strong>Xi\u2019an, China, from August 30 to September 5, 2026<\/strong>, has been selected as the target conference for support in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Eligible Applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program is open to early-career researchers who are conducting original and pioneering research activities related to aerosol science and technology and who wish to present their research outcome at an international conference. Eligible applicants are, in principle, individual members aged 40 or younger, or student members enrolled in doctoral programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must plan to participate <strong>in person<\/strong> in an international conference related to aerosol science and technology held overseas, and, in principle, must have secured an <strong>oral presentation as the first author<\/strong> (see note below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2026, the target conference is the <strong>International Aerosol Conference (IAC) 2026<\/strong> (Xi\u2019an, China, August 30\u2013September 5, 2026). As a condition of receiving support, awardees are required to prepare a report for publication in the society journal <em>Earozoru Kenkyu<\/em>. In some cases, awardees may also be requested to attend the IARA Board Meeting on site together with the JAAST member in charge of international affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Applicants who applied for an oral presentation but were assigned a poster presentation due to the decision of the conference organizers will also be considered eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Restrictions on Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If applicants apply for this program concurrently with other grants, this must be clearly stated. The grant is provided <strong>directly to the individual applicant<\/strong> for the purpose of attending an international conference. Funds cannot be transferred to the applicant\u2019s affiliated institution under the name of a donation or for any other purpose inconsistent with this intent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Application Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thursday, April 30, 2026 (must be received by this date)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, the acceptance of abstracts for IAC 2026 has not yet been announced. The deadline for abstract submission and early-bird registration is <strong>February 28, 2026<\/strong> (general registration fee: USD 700, approximately JPY 110,000). Required Documents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Name of the international conference to be attended<br>(for this call: International Aerosol Conference (IAC) 2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of application for an oral presentation (e.g., a screenshot of the submission screen) and a copy of documentation confirming acceptance (email copies are acceptable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A copy of the conference program showing the presentation title and author name(s), along with the accepted abstract (PDF)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An estimated budget of necessary expenses (airfare, accommodation, conference registration fees, etc.)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Air tickets and accommodations should be selected with due consideration for safety and cost-effectiveness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Formal quotations are not required; however, the basis for the cost estimates (e.g., copies of referenced web pages) should be provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If combined with other grants or financial support, this must be stated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the conference, documents certifying on-site participation must be submitted (e.g., a participation certificate issued by the conference, a name badge showing the participant\u2019s name, photographs taken during the presentation, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. Eligible Expenses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A grant of up to <strong>JPY 200,000<\/strong> will be provided as partial support for expenses necessary to attend and present research at an international conference held overseas. In principle, the funds will be transferred to the applicant\u2019s <strong>personal bank account in Japan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7. Notification of Results<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The JAAST Board will select a small number of awardees. Applicants will be notified directly of the results around <strong>late May 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8. Reporting of Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the international conference, awardees will be required to write an article introducing the session in which they presented, or a related session, for inclusion in the \u201cConference Reports\u201d section of <em>Earozoru Kankyu<\/em>. Further details will be provided by the Editorial Committee of <em>Aerosol Research<\/em> after the selection results are announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9.
