1.　会誌の発行

会誌「エアロゾル研究（Earozoru Kenkyu）」を年4回（3月，6月，9月，12月）発行しています。会誌の内容は次のとおりです。

(a)原著論文(Original paper)

下記，6種類があります。いずれも他の学術的刊行物に公表されていないものに限定しています。使用言語は，日本語か英語です。

a-2　技術論文(Technical paper)
a-3　レビューペーパー(Review paper)
a-4　研究速報(Letter)
a-5　ノート(Note)
a-6　討論(Discussion)

(b)特集記事(Feature article)

最近の研究，技術に関する動向や重要な知見を，系統的に解説します。

(c)解説記事(Interactive article)

通常は複数の記事をもって各号の「特集」とする特集記事とは別に，単独の記事あるいは複数号にわたる連載記事となることを企図した解説。内容は，特集記事と同様に特定の研究あるいは技術に関する最近のおよび/ または既往の重要な結果ならびに動向に対するものとし，特集記事と同様の水準を持つものとする。編集委員会からの依頼稿，あるいは会員からの投稿による。

(d)一般記事

巻頭言，提言，アラカルト，マイウエイ，行事報告，エアロゾル・スクエア，研究室紹介，法人会員とエアロゾルなど

2.　エアロゾル科学・技術研究討論会の開催

毎年7月もしくは8月に開催されます。この討論会では，あらゆる分野のエアロゾル研究者・技術者が一堂に会し，活発な研究交流と情報交換がなされています。また，特別講演や展望講演では，自分の専門とする分野以外の解説が聴けます。
　なお，この研究討論会では，その主旨から，他学会で発表した講演も受け入れています。また，エアロゾルに関係する様々な分野の方々の集まりですので，懇親会にも力を入れております。

3.　講演会・セミナー・基礎講座・シンポジウムの開催

内外のトピックスの紹介及びエアロゾルに関する特定の重点課題についての講演会，セミナー，基礎講座，シンポジウムを適宜企画しています。

4.　研究会

より緊密に一層の研究交流を図るために，小グループで気軽に学ぶ場として研究会制度があります。
2023年度は以下の研究会が活動しています。
・室内エアロゾル粒子の捕集・計測・分析技術(SMATIA)研究会
・エアロゾルリモートセンシング研究会
・バイオエアロゾル研究会
・東南アジア大気エアロゾル研究会
・大気中マイクロおよびナノプラスチック研究会

5.　若手会

日本エアロゾル学会若手会は，日本エアロゾル学会に所属している２０～３０歳代の会員（法人会員に所属する方，学生会員も含みます）を主な対象として，研究分野や大学・研究所・民間企業などの所属を横断し，若手研究者・技術者の討論・交流の場を設けること，それによって若手の間でのネットワーク作りの場を提供することを目的とした会です。

6.　国際的な連携

本学会は，国際エアロゾル学会連合に加盟しており，諸外国との学会との，情報交換も活発に行っております。

7.　学会賞

会長賞：

学会の発展あるいはエアロゾルの分野の学問または技術の進歩に顕著な貢献をした個人または団体に与えられます。

論文賞：

会誌「エアロゾル研究」に発表された優秀なオリジナル論文の著者に与えられます。

井伊谷賞：

エアロゾル科学・科学研究討論会の「特別セッション」における優れた発表者に与えられます。

奨励賞：

今後の本学会への貢献あるいはエアロゾル研究分野における活躍が大いに期待される学生会員，および受賞年の4月1日に満40歳以下の正会員に与えられます。

エアロゾル計測賞：

日本エアロゾル学会の正会員，法人会員または学生会員で，新規性・独創性の高い計測技術の研究・開発を行っており，これまでに顕著な実績を上げている，または，今後の発展が期待できる研究者・技術者に与えられます。

高橋幹二賞：

日本エアロゾル学会の正会員，法人会員または学生会員で，日本のエアロゾルに関する研究成果を世界に認知せしめ，日本エアロゾル学会のグローバル化に寄与することを目的として，本章の意義に賛同を得た計測機器企業からの拠出金によって運営されます。本賞は日本エアロゾル学会誌「エアロゾル研究」に発表された英語論文の中で，研究論文・技術論文において特に優れ学会のグローバル化への貢献が期待される論文の著者に対して授与されます。

8.　エアロゾル関連機器展示会の開催

研究討論会の会期中に，同じ会場内でエアロゾルに関連した機器の展示会を併設しています。最新製品について参会者が効率よく情報収集できます。

1. Publication of the JAAST Journal

The society publishes its official journal, “Earozoru Kenkyu (Aerosol Research),” four times a year (March, June, September, December). The journal includes:

  • Original Papers
    (Unpublished works in Japanese or English, in the following categories:)
    • Research Papers,
    • Technical Papers
    • Review Papers
    • Letters
    • Notes
    • Discussions
  • Feature Articles
    Systematic overviews of recent trends and significant findings in research and technology.
  • Interactive Articles
    In-depth explanations of specific research or technology topics, either as stand-alone articles or serialized over multiple issues. These are contributed by invitation or by member submission.
  • General Articles
    Includes editorials, proposals, miscellaneous topics, member experiences, event reports, “Aerosol Square,” laboratory introductions, and features on corporate members.

2. Annual Aerosol Science and Technology Meeting

Held every July or August, this conference brings together aerosol researchers and engineers from all fields for active research exchange and information sharing. Special and overview lectures are also provided, offering insights beyond participants’ own areas of expertise. Presentations previously given at other conferences are also accepted, and networking events are actively promoted.

3. Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, and Symposia

The society organizes lectures, seminars, basic courses, and symposia on domestic and international topics, as well as on specific focus areas related to aerosols.

4. Research Groups

To promote closer research exchange, the society supports small research groups for informal learning and discussion.
Active groups in FY2023 include:

  • Research Group on Collection, Measurement, and Analysis Techniques for Indoor Aerosol Particles (SMATIA)
  • Aerosol Remote Sensing Research Group
  • Bioaerosol Research Group
  • Southeast Asia Atmospheric Aerosol Research Group
  • Micro- and Nanoplastics in the Atmosphere Research Group

5. Young Researchers’ Group

The Young Researchers’ Group is open to members in their 20s and 30s (including those from corporate and student membership). It provides opportunities for discussion and networking across research fields, universities, research institutes, and private companies.

6. International Collaboration

JAAST is a member of the International Aerosol Research Assembly (IARA) and the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly (AARA) actively exchanges information and collaborates with overseas societies.

7. Society Awards

  • President’s Award:
    For individuals or groups making significant contributions to the advancement of the society or aerosol science and technology.
  • Paper Award:
    For authors of outstanding original papers published in “Earozoru Kenkyu.”
  • Iinoya Award:
    For excellent presenter(s) in special sessions at the Aerosol Science and Technology Conference.
  • Encouragement Award:
    For student members and regular members under 40 years old (as of April 1 of the award year) who are expected to make future contributions to the society or the field of aerosol research.
  • Aerosol Measurement Award:
    For members who have achieved notable results or are expected to make significant future contributions in the research and development of innovative measurement techniques.
  • Kanji Takahashi Award:
    For authors of outstanding English research or technical papers published in “Earozoru Kenkyu” that contribute to the globalization of Japanese aerosol research. This award is supported by donations from measurement instrument companies.

8. Aerosol-Related Equipment Exhibition

During the annual conference, an exhibition of aerosol-related equipment is held at the same venue, providing participants with efficient access to the latest product information.
