2025年3月25～26日ころに，大規模な黄砂が日本全国に飛来し，皆さんの生活や健康に影響が出ることが心配されています。 黄砂は長年日本へ飛来しており，時折大規模な飛来が発生しています。最近では2023年4月12～13日に黄砂が全国的に飛来しました。
黄砂は砂漠から小さな鉱物粒子が大気中に舞い上がったものですので，大気中を浮遊する粒子，すなわち「エアロゾル」の一種です。そのため，古くからエアロゾル研究者の主要な研究対象の１つになっています。
当学会が運営するエアロゾル用語解説サイト「エアロゾルペディア」や当学会の学術誌「エアロゾル研究」には，黄砂に関する情報や知見が載っていますので，黄砂について詳しく調べたい方や深く知りたい方はぜひご活用ください。中には黄砂や砂漠由来のエアロゾルの健康影響について解説した記事もあります。専門的な解説になっていますので，難解なところもあるかもしれませんが，ご活用いただければ幸いです
Around March 25-26, 2025, a large-scale dust storm is expected to affect all of Japan, raising concerns about its impact on people’s lives and health. Yellow sand has been blowing into Japan for many years, with occasional large-scale events. Recently, yellow sand was observed nationwide on April 12-13, 2023.
Yellow sand consists of small mineral particles lifted into the atmosphere from deserts, making it a type of particle suspended in the air (aerosol). As a result, it has long been a major research focus for aerosol scientists.
JAAST operates the aerosol terminology explanation site “Aerosolpedia” and publishes the academic journal “Earozoru Kenkyu (Aerosol Research)” which contain information and insights about yellow sand. We encourage those who wish to learn more about yellow sand to utilize these resources. Some articles explain the health impacts of yellow sand and desert-derived aerosols. While the explanations may be technical and complex, we hope you find them useful.
