第40回エアロゾル科学・技術研究討論会
2023年8月30日から9月1日まで、群馬県桐生市の美喜仁桐生文化会館にて「第40回エアロゾル科学・技術研究討論会」が開催されました。本会は日本エアロゾル学会が主催し、静電気学会、日本気象学会、日本空気清浄協会などの学会・協会と連携して行われました。
今年も、基礎から応用まで幅広い研究成果が発表され、若手研究者による発表から市民公開講座まで、多彩なプログラムが展開されました。
主なプログラム
- 8月30日（水）
午前は「大気エアロゾルと生態影響」「室内エアロゾルと測定」に関する若手口頭発表が並びました。午後は燃焼を含む生成・性状やエアロゾル応用、さらに一般口頭発表や若手ポスター発表が続き、活発な議論が交わされました。 - 8月31日（木）
第3回静電気学会・日本エアロゾル学会合同シンポジウム「静電気とエアロゾルの接点」が行われ、静電場や電気集塵装置、気中浮遊菌捕集など最新の研究成果が共有されました。午後には特別セッション、夕方には懇親会も催され、研究者同士の交流が深まりました。 - 9月1日（金）
SMATIA研究会シンポジウムや「大気エアロゾル」「室内エアロゾル」「生態影響」などの一般口頭発表が行われました。最終プログラムには市民公開講座「かすみとくしゃみから考えるエアロゾルの環境影響」「室内エアロゾルと感染対策」があり、専門外の参加者も交えて理解を深める機会となりました。
まとめ
第40回となった本討論会は、エアロゾル研究の最新知見を共有する場であると同時に、異分野の研究者や市民との橋渡しの場でもありました。来年も、エアロゾル科学の広がりと進展に期待が集まります。
Report: The 40th Annual Meeting and Symposium on Aerosol Science and Technology
From August 30 to September 1, 2023, the 40th Annual Meeting and Symposium on Aerosol Science and Technology was held at the Bikini Kiryu City Performing Arts Center, Gunma, Japan. The event was hosted by the Japan Association of Aerosol Science and Technology (JAAST), with joint support from the Institute of Electrostatics Japan, Meteorological Society of Japan, Japan Air Cleaning Association, and several other organizations.
This year’s program covered a broad spectrum of topics, from fundamental studies to applied technologies, featuring young researchers’ presentations, specialized symposia, and lectures open to the public.
Program Highlights
- August 30 (Wed)
Early career researchers presented on Atmospheric Aerosols and Biological Effects and Indoor Aerosols and Measurements. Afternoon sessions included Aerosol Generation and Properties (including combustion), applications, and poster presentations that sparked active discussion. - August 31 (Thu)
The 3rd IESJ–JAAST Joint Symposium focused on “Common Ground between Electrostatics and Aerosols,” with invited talks on electric field dynamics, dust collection, and bioaerosol control. Later, a Special Session and a lively banquet provided opportunities for networking and exchange. - September 1 (Fri)
The SMATIA Symposium and a series of general oral presentations explored topics from atmospheric processes to indoor aerosol behavior and biological impacts. The event concluded with public lectures on the environmental effects of haze and sneezing, as well as infection control through indoor aerosol research.
Takeaway
Marking its 40th edition, this symposium reaffirmed its role as a hub for sharing cutting-edge aerosol research while also fostering dialogue across disciplines and with the general public. The momentum is set to continue as the field of aerosol science expands further.
