Introduction
The Fissan-Pui-TSI Award will be granted by the International Aerosol Research Assembly (IARA) to recognize international collaboration in the field of aerosol science and technology between researchers/engineers residing on at least two different continents. The award may be shared between two or more collaborating individuals or teams.
Endowment of the Fissan-Pui-TSI Award Fund was initially made possible through a $75,000 donation from TSI Incorporated, to honor more than 30 years of collaboration between Fissan and Pui in the field of aerosol science and technology.
Award Rules
Selection Process
The Fissan-Pui-TSI Award Committee will submit its recommendation of a candidate to the IARA Board of Directors for final approval and granting of the award at the 12th International Aerosol Conference (IAC2026).
- The Award committee consists of the Chair who is the current Vice President of IARA, and 3 or 4 members approved by the IARA Board.
- The award consists of a certificate and a monetary award to each of the recipients.
Nominee & Nominator
Nominee should be eminent scholars distinguished by their academic excellence, practical impact of their research, and their recognized integrity and influence in the field. Renomination from a prior year is allowable if the candidate remains eligible and nomination materials are updated.
The nominator should be familiar with the nominee’s scientific/technical contributions. The nominator and at least one of the nominees must be a member of an IARA member society, but the other collaborating nominees can be any individuals, both inside and outside IARA member societies.
Nomination Dossier
The documents described below should be submitted as a single PDF in the following order:
- Cover page: Please include the completed cover page as part of your nomination packet. Be sure to list the names and affiliations of all nominees and the nominator.
- A nomination letter.
- At least two supporting letters of recommendation for the collaboration must be included in the nomination. Supporting letters for the individual candidates are not required.
- Curriculum vitae for each individual.
- A list of joint publications.
- A list of joint achievements, and reports of collaborative projects.
