The Asian Young Aerosol Scientist Award was established by the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly and TSI Incorporated to recognize a young scientist in Asia, Australia, or New Zealand who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of Aerosol Science and Technology. The award aims to promote research and development in Aerosol Science and Technology contributed by Asian young scientists and researchers.
Award Rules
Selection Process
The Asian Young Aerosol Scientist Award committee recommends a candidate for this award to the Board of Directors of the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly, which grants the award in the year the AAC is held.
Nominee
The nominee must be a person under 41 years of age by the date of the Asian Aerosol Conference of that year (1st December, 2025), and has conducted his or her scientific work in Asia, Australia, or New Zealand for 3 years or longer, and who has not already received this award. The Asian Young Aerosol Award committee recommends a candidate for this award to the Board of Directors of the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly to grant the award.
Nominator
A person familiar with the nominee’s scientific /technical contributions can nominate.

The four documents described below should be submitted as a single PDF in the following order:

- Vitae or Job Description, and Publications
Cover Page: Complete the cover page of the nomination and submit it with the complete nomination packet.
Letter from Nominator: Should focus on personal knowledge and provide evidence of the nominee’s outstanding scientific and/or engineering contribution to aerosol science.
Supporting Letters: Three supporting letters from persons (the nominee’s supervisor and peers are acceptable) who have personal knowledge of the nominee’s work and provide evidence of the nominee’s outstanding scientific and/or engineering contribution to aerosol science.
Vitae or Job Descriptions and publications: Appropriate for the position, and a list of the nominee’s significant publications.

🏅 AARA Fellow Award
🏅 AARA Fellow Award
For outstanding contributions to aerosol research in Asia.

The Asian Aerosol Research Assembly (AARA) has established AARA Fellows to recognize individuals who have done outstanding service to the AARA and made significant contributions to Asia’s aerosol science and technology field for more than ten years. Nominations of candidates for AARA Fellows are invited. In principle, one AARA Fellow is appointed in the year the AAC is held. AARA Fellow is appointed by the Chair of the AARA Fellow Committee or their representative at the Asian Aerosol Conference.
Details of the nomination and selection procedure:
1. NOMINATION
- Nomination is made by a full letter of justification, including a curriculum vitae and a bibliography. The letter should highlight the Major contributions of the nominee to the field of Aerosol Science and Technology, and the ways in which the nominee has served the AARA.
- A maximum of three supporting letters will be considered.
- Only living nominees will be considered.
- The AARA Fellows Committee member can neither nominate him/herself as a nominee of the AARA Fellow nor write support letters for a nominee.
2. SELECTION
- The AARA President selects a senior person to chair the Fellows Committee. The Chair will form the Committee, which consists of (a) members recommended by the Presidents of Member Societies or AARA board members (one member per society), or (b) existing fellows. The committee reviews all nominations to make the selection based on a simple majority vote of all members at least 2 months before the date AARA Fellows are appointed.
- The Chair of the AARA Fellows Committee presents AARA Fellows with a Certificate at the Asian Aerosol Conference or other relevant Aerosol Conferences. All members of AARA Member Societies are encouraged to nominate candidates for the forthcoming AARA Fellows. Questions concerning AARA Fellows can be addressed to the current President of the AARA:

For excellence in aerosol measurement technologies.

The Kanomax Award will be presented at the Asian Aerosol Conference of the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly (AARA) to recognize a researcher or engineer residing in Asia who has made outstanding contributions to aerosol instrumentation and experimental techniques, including aerosol sampling and measurement that have significantly advanced aerosol science and technology development.

The Kanomax Award committee recommends a candidate for this award to the Board of Directors of the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly, which grants the award.
Nominee
- All AARA members are encouraged to submit nominations for this prestigious award.
- Nominees are not required to be members of the AARA.
- Renomination from a prior year is allowable if the candidate remains eligible and nomination materials are updated.
